The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) will go for reforms after making changes to the positions of General Secretaries of the SLFP and the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA), former SLFP State Minister of Lands T.B. Ekanayake said.
“This is what the 16 ministers and SLFP MPs, who resigned from the Government, are anticipating,” he told Ceylon Today.
He added that reforms would not benefit the party if the two General Secretaries are not ousted.
Ekanayake also said that President Maithripala Sirisena has promised that within a month from 8 May changes would be made to the top posts in the party.
“The SLFP need not follow the UNP’s method of reforms,” he said. (PM)
