IGP questioned by Special Committee

Gota’s Writ Petition fixed for inquiry

The Court of Appeal yesterday fixed for inquiry on October 17, the writ petition filed by former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa challenging the FCID inquiry that the D.A. Rajapaksa Museum and Memorial in Medamulana was built using public funds amounting to Rs.33.9 million.

Rs.500 million has been spent from the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) to purchase SriLankan Airlines’ shares which belonged to the Emirates Company in 2010 violating rules and regulations, EPF Superintendent, Nalini Malkanthi Bandara told the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) on Sri Lankan Airlines, yesterday (28).
