OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUNG FILM DIRECTORS

The 41st SIGNIS Salutation Awards ceremony will be held under the auspices of Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, Archbishop of Colombo, and SIGNIS International Chairman, Helen Osman at the BMICH, on August 25 . This year’s theme will be ‘The Proud Display of Youth Vitality in the Global Motion Picture Discourse’. The ceremony is organised under the patronage of Rev Fr Lal Pushpadewa Fernando OMI, President - SIGNIS Sri Lanka and Media Spokesperson for the Catholic Church Sri Lanka.

Arjun Kapoor is grabbing quite a lot of interesting films this year. After wrapping up Namastey England and Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, Arjun has started working on the 12th project of his career. The film titled India’s Most Wanted is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, who has directed films like Raid and No One Killed Jessica.

The Dinner Theatre, presented by The Thomian Society, featuring a skit by Indu Dharmasena and performances by popular Thomian duo the De Lanerolle Brothers, was recently held at the Grand Ballroom at Hilton Colombo amidst an enthusiastic gathering. What ensued was an evening of rib-tickling laughs, fantastic performances, and camaraderie.
