NMCRP writes to President Ensure CEYPETCO & LIOC sell at one price

The National Movement for Consumer Right`s Protection (NMCRP) has requested President Maithripala Sirisena to take steps to ensure that both, the Ceylon Petroleum Cooperation (CEYPETCO) and the Lanka Indian Oil Company (LIOC) filling stations sell fuel at one and the same price.


CB downgrades 2018 growth rate

Moderate first quarter performance has prompted the Central Bank to revise down the growth target for 2018 to 4%-4.5% from an initial forecast of 4.5%-5% with its Chief Dr. Indrajit Coomaraswamy cautioning against reducing interest rates to spur growth as it could lead to a balance of payments crisis.


9.5 million as a grant from ADB for SME

Financial inclusion for SMEs is important to realize the development objectives of the Government such as promoting exports, generating jobs and increasing per capita income. As such, the Government mobilized USD 100 million from ADB in 2016, with the objective of financing SMEs and having successfully disbursed these funds, another USD 75 million was mobilized from ADB, in 2018 as an additional financing to further enhance the benefits to the SME sector.


50 million from OPEC

The OFID has been a major Development partner of Sri Lanka providing financial assistance to implement a number of strategically important development projects during the past two decades. Under current portfolio, OFID provides financing for road and irrigation sectors.
