JO to seek debate

The Joint Opposition (JO) has decided to request the Speaker, Karu Jayasuriya, for a two-day debate in Parliament to discuss the recent damning statement made by the President, in which he lambasted the 100-day programme formulated by the United National Party (UNP) ahead of the 8 January, 2015, Presidential Poll. JO Parliamentarian Udaya Gammanpila said that a proposal to this effect will be submitted, during the next Party Leaders’ meeting, by JO Parliamentary Group Leader MP Dinesh Gunawardene.
