JO to seek debate

The Joint Opposition (JO) has decided to request the Speaker, Karu Jayasuriya, for a two-day debate in Parliament to discuss the recent damning statement made by the President, in which he lambasted the 100-day programme formulated by the United National Party (UNP) ahead of the 8 January, 2015, Presidential Poll. JO Parliamentarian Udaya Gammanpila said that a proposal to this effect will be submitted, during the next Party Leaders’ meeting, by JO Parliamentary Group Leader MP Dinesh Gunawardene.

HARIN ANNOUNCES MAJOR MEDIA REVAMP

The Minister said all media chiefs and journalists will be invited for the meeting to brief them on how the party’s communication system will be carried out and the ‘Statement of Truth’ will be launched at this meeting. All relevant party communiqués will be included in this ‘Statement of Truth’.
