Case law says Constitution prevails over Interpretation Ordinance - Jayampathy

United National Party Parliamentarian, President’s Counsel Dr. Jayampathy Wickremaratne yesterday (31) said that verdicts given by former Supreme Court Judge, Justice Mark Fernando, in a few cases, has proved that if there is any contradiction between the Constitution and the Interpretation Ordinance when appointing a Prime Minister, what should be adhered to is the Constitution.
